Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
rideut ("we", "us") is an independent, web-based route planner for Utah public transit. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign up with email or Google, we store your email address, display name, and sign-in provider.
- Email consent. We record that you agreed to receive email from rideut, and when. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
- Trip queries. We process the plain-English trips you enter to return route results. We may retain anonymized query text to improve the service.
- Location. If you use "Nearby", your browser shares your location with us to find nearby stops. We do not store it.
How we use it
- To plan your trips and show live UTA data.
- To send you service alerts, trip tips, and product updates (only with your consent).
- To show relevant sponsored placements from local businesses alongside trip results. Advertisers never receive your personal information.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to operate rideut, including Google (Firebase authentication and hosting; the Google Routes API for trip planning) and Anthropic (Claude, for understanding your plain-English requests). We do not sell your personal information.
